Katie Doyle Audience Feedback
Our task was to create a 2-3 minute opening sequence to our horror film. When we finally finished the project, we showed our sequence to the class to gain their feedback.
The overall feedback from the class was quite positive. Looking at the reactions from the students watching the film, I noticed that everyone wasn’t too confused and seem to understand what was happening. I made this judgment from watching the audience’s faces during and after the film. This was a relief because although we didn’t want to give too much away about the plot of the overall film, we gave enough clues for it to make sense.
We also received applause after the film was shown. This was rewarding because not all groups got the same reception we did. Some groups didn’t receive applause or didn’t receive compliments showing that the audience enjoyed the film. We were glad that our film entertained the audience.
Some comments ere made about our film, such as; “I was even more interested in the film because I wanted to see who was scaring the character.” This links back to us being relieved by the audience’s lack of confusion and continuous interest of the film. This is one of the aims we wanted to achieve from our film and we are glad the enigma’s in the film was a success.
Overall we were pleased with the audience’s reactions and we feel that we have met the moods and aims we wanted to create when we were planning the sequence.
